About the Energy Efficiency Certification Scheme

Assessment overview

The Energy Efficiency Certification Scheme certifies professionals that have the knowledge, capabilities and practical experience necessary to lead and manage all scales of building energy upgrades including an Integrated Building Energy Retrofit (IBER) and to work effectively with their clients.

Candidates are assessed against the key competencies required for a successful IBER, and must provide real examples that demonstrate their skills and knowledge. It is a rigourous assessment process.

Professionals certified as a CEES or CEEL are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct and the Scheme Rules. Complaints regarding breaches of the Code of Conduct or the Rules will be referred to the Scheme Ombudsperson for formal review.
